The Saints (7-2) were dominated 26-9 by the Falcons, a team that entered the game on a six-game losing streak. Quarterback Drew Brees was sacked six times and pressured 18 times by a Falcons’ defense that had posted just seven sacks and allowed 28.8 points a game before the game. The Saints’ offensive line is banged up and that could spell trouble against Tampa Bay edge rusher Shaquil Barrett, who is tied for first in the NFL with 11.5 sacks. The Saints will likely be without cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who is nursing a hamstring injury. The Saints defeated the Buccaneers 31-24 in Week 5.
The Buccaneers (3-6) defeated the Arizona Cardinals 30-27 in Week 10 to end a four-game losing streak. Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston threw for 358 yards and a touchdown in the game, but he also had two more interceptions, bringing his total to a league-leading 14. The Buccaneers have 17 turnovers in the last four games. The Buccaneers’ receiving duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have combined for 104 receptions, 1,766 yards and 13 touchdowns. The two are ranked second and fourth, respectively, in the NFL in reception yards.
